Notice of Meeting/Workshop Hearing

DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
The Florida Department of Transportation announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.
DATE AND TIME: Monday, December 6, 2010, 6:30 p.m.
PLACE: Jack Durrance Auditorium, Alachua County Administration Building, 12 S. E. 1st Street, Room 209, Gainesville, Florida
GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: This meeting is being held to afford interested persons the opportunity to express their views concerning the location, conceptual design, social, economic and environmental effects of Financial Project ID Number 423608-2, otherwise known as State Road 226/24A (S. E. 16 Avenue), from SR 329 (Main St.) to SR 331 (Williston Rd.) in Gainesville, Alachua County, Florida. This segment is approximately 0.6 miles long. From SR 329 (Main St.) to SR 331 (Williston Road), SR 226 (S. E. 16 Avenue) is a two lane two-way rural highway. Widening this part of SR 226 (S. E. 16 Avenue) from 2-lanes to 4-lanes, including the provisions of bicycle lanes and sidewalks is one of the alternatives being considered. Right of way will be required for the proposed improvements. Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability or family status.
