59G-4.320: Therapy Services
PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The purpose of this proposed rule amendment is to incorporate by reference update July 2008 to the Florida Medicaid Therapy Services Coverage and Limitations Handbook. The handbook was updated to include the Prepaid Therapy Program, which was authorized by Section 409.912(42), F.S., and the General Appropriations Act for fiscal year 2005-2006. Certain eligibility categories of recipients under the age of 21 who are not enrolled in a managed care program, except for MediPass and the Children’s Medical Services Network, will be enrolled in the Prepaid Therapy Program for the provision of their therapy services. Recipients who are otherwise excluded from managed care will not be enrolled. The Agency for Health Care Administration, Division of Medicaid will contract with vendors to administer the provision of therapy services to Medicaid recipients who are enrolled in the Prepaid Therapy Program. The effect of the rule amendment to Rule 59G-4.320, F.A.C., will be to incorporate by reference in rule update July 2008 to the Florida Medicaid Therapy Services Coverage and Limitations Handbook.

(2) All therapy providers enrolled in the Medicaid program must be in compliance with the Florida Medicaid Therapy Services Coverage and Limitations Handbook, October 2003, updated July 2008, incorporated by reference, and the Florida Medicaid Provider Reimbursement Handbook, CMS-1500, which is incorporated in Rule 59G-4.001, F.A.C. Both handbooks are available from the Medicaid fiscal agent’s Web Portal at http://mymedicaid-Florida.com. Click on Provider Support, and then on Handbooks.
