Student Performance Standards

PURPOSE:

To update the student performance standards for Social Studies Grades 9-12, Health K-12, Social Studies Access Points – Alternate Academic Achievement Standards K-12, and the Expanded Core Competencies (Visual Impairments) domain of Special Skills PK-12.

SUMMARY:

This amendment adopts the revised K-12 Health standards to include internet safety, social media and screen time benchmarks. This amendment adopts the revised 9-12 Financial Literacy strand for Social Studies and the Social Studies Access Points – Alternate Academic Achievement Standards for K-12. This amendment revises the benchmark language for EC.PK12.MD.6.4 within the Special Skills standards for PK-12. The 9-12 financial literacy strand was revised in accordance with the criteria set forth in s. 1003.4282(3)(h), F.S., amended by Senate Bill 1054 in 2022.
