RULE:

PURPOSE:

The purpose and effect of the proposed rules are to address the possession, housing, shipment and sale of captive wildlife. The proposed rules will define “hobbyist” and exempt hobbyists from meeting sustained and consistent commercial activity requirements; clarify requirements for meeting local building and zoning codes for applicants requesting authorization to possess Class I or Class II wildlife; specify labeling requirements for the shipment of live wildlife; specify the marking requirements for Reptiles of Concern (ROC), and clarify submission requirements for the Critical Incident/Disaster Plan.

SUMMARY:

The proposed rule changes address the possession housing shipment, and sale of captive wildlife. The summary of these changes are as follows:
