Requirements for Exiting English Language Learners from the English for Speakers of Other Languages Program

PURPOSE:

This rule is amended to update terminology, clarify the eligibility determination and assessment of limited English proficient students, and to incorporate the standards for annual assessment to measure progress limited English proficiency students are making towards mastery of the English language.

SUMMARY:

This rule prescribes the requirements for classification, reclassification, post-reclassification of English language learners, and standards for exit from the ESOL program.
