Course Requirements - Grades K-12 Basic and Adult Secondary Programs

PURPOSE:

The purpose of this rule amendment is to approve course descriptions for math courses which have been updated to reflect the action taken by the State Board of Education when adopting the new mathematics Sunshine State Standards in 2007. In addition, courses are added in Language Arts, Humanities, Science (marine, environmental management, food studies), physical education, social studies, and fine arts as options for those schools which offer the Advanced International Certificate of Education Diploma. The effect is the adoption of updated course descriptions.

SUMMARY:

The 2008 Supplement to the 2007-2008 Florida Course Descriptions for Grades 6-12/Adult, Basic Education includes updated mathematics course descriptions and additional courses for those schools electing to offer the Advanced International Certificate of Education Diploma.
