RULE:

69A-3.012

Standards of the National Fire Protection Association and Other Standards Adopted

PURPOSE:

To adopt firesafety standards for tunnels to accommodate the state-owned tunnel to be built in Miami-Dade County.

SUMMARY:

A tunnel is to be built in Miami, Florida, under a portion of Biscayne Bay, linking the City of Miami and Miami-Dade County with the Port of Miami.  The tunnel will be state owned property; therefore, the State Fire Marshal is the authority having jurisdiction.  The rule adopts NFPA 502, 2001 (the latest edition) entitled “Road Tunnels, Bridges, and Other Limited Access Highways.”
