RULE:

64B5-17.002

Written Dental Records; Minimum Content; Retention

PURPOSE:

The Board proposes a rule amendment to clarify that all treatment related professional patient/dentist encounters are set forth in record and that all treatments and procedure are to be documented.  This will not only protect patients but will also assure that any subsequent dentists or dental specialists will have a full picture of the patient’s prior dental care.

SUMMARY:

Updating text with additional information to complete the patient dental records.
