PURPOSE:

The proposed rulemaking will conform rules with recent amendments to Chapter 440, Florida Statutes. The rulemaking addresses the number of days an employer has to comply with a written request from the Department to produce required business records, amends the calculation of any applicable penalty and penalty credits, and creates a workers’ compensation coverage and compliance tutorial that allows an additional 15 percent penalty reduction for successfully completing the tutorial. The rulemaking also updates forms and makes other necessary updates.

SUBJECT:

Department powers to enforce employer compliance with workers’ compensation insurance coverage requirements, penalty calculation for noncompliance, and calculation of credits and penalty reductions.
