PURPOSE:

The purpose of these rule amendments is to address industry requests for updates to regulations that apply to the commercial food shrimp fishery in inland waters of Nassau, Duval, St. Johns, Putnam, Flagler, and Clay counties by modifying 68B-31, Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C.).

The effect of these rule amendments will be to make the Food Shrimp Production license fully transferable and to allow commercial food shrimping on Mondays that are not legal state holidays and on the Friday after Thanksgiving.

SUMMARY:

These rule amendments will modify regulations specific to the commercial harvest of food shrimp from inland waters of Northeast Florida.  The rule amendments will make the Food Shrimp Production license fully transferable and allow commercial food shrimping on Mondays that are not legal state holidays and on the Friday after Thanksgiving.
