69J-2.002

Alternative Procedures for Resolution of Disputed Commercial Lines Residential Insurance Claims Arising from Hurricane and Tropical Storm Damage (Repealed)

PURPOSE:

The rule establishes a mediation program for the resolution of disputed commercial residential insurance claims resulting from the 2004 and 2005 hurricanes and tropical storms that hit the State of Florida.

SUMMARY:

The rule requires insurers to notify commercial residential policyholders of their right to request mediation of their disputed claims. The rule creates procedures for a notice of the right to mediation, requesting mediation, assignment of mediators, payment for mediation, scheduling mediation conferences, and the conduct of the mediation conference.
