64B15-14.005

Standards for the Prescribing of Controlled Substances for Treatment of Acute Pain

PURPOSE:

The proposed substantial rewording of Rule 64B15-14.005 is intended to implement the legislative mandate set forth in the newly enacted Section 456.44, F.S., with regard to the standards for the prescribing of controlled substances for the treatment of acute pain.

SUMMARY:

The proposed rewording of Rule 64B15-14.005 implements the legislative mandate set forth in the newly enacted Section 456.44, F.S., by setting forth the definitions associated with acute pain and setting forth appropriate standards and requirements for the prescribing of controlled substances for the treatment of acute pain.
