64K-1.007	Indicators of Controlled Substance Abuse
64K-1.008	Electronic Health Recordkeeping System Integration

PURPOSE:

For rules 64K-1.001, .002, .003, .004 and .007, F.A.C., to provide for revising the requirements for reporting dispensing of controlled substances, to allow employees of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, U. S. Department of Defense, and Indian Health Services to access certain information pursuant to recently enacted legislation.  For rules 64K-1.007 and .008, F.A.C, to provide the process for approved entities to connect electronic health recordkeeping systems to the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program system as required by recently enacted legislation.

SUMMARY:

For rules 64K-1.001, .002, .003, .004 and .007, F.A.C., reporting and query requirements for dispensers and prescribers of controlled substances and access to certain nformation by employees of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, U.S. Department of Defense, and Indian Health Services pursuant to recently enacted legislation.  For rule 64K-1.007 and .008, F.A.C., electronic health recordkeeping system connections with the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program system as required by recently enacted legislation.
