PURPOSE:

The rule sections implement section 985.6865, Florida Statutes, which simplifies the method by which the costs of juvenile detention are shared between the state and counties that are not fiscally constrained.

SUMMARY:

The rule sections address the calculation of detention costs for resident youths, the proportional distribution of those costs among the state and non-fiscally constrained counties, and provides a process for billing and resolution of disputes.
