PURPOSE:

The Commission is considering amendments to the existing manatee protection rule for Collier County. In March 2016, at the request of the Commission and as provided by 379.2431(2)(f), Florida Statutes, Collier County established a Local Rule Review Committee (LRRC) to review and comment on a preliminary rule proposal. The LRRC met seven times and the Commission received the LRRC report in May 2016. Information on this issue is being maintained at: http://myfwc.com/wildlifehabitats/managed/manatee/rulemaking/.
