Services Performed On or In Connection with a Non-American Vessel or Aircraft

PURPOSE:

This rule will clarify the application of the section 443.1216(13)(b), Florida Statutes.

SUBJECT:

The rule clarifies the application of the “crewman’s exemption” within section 443.1216(13)(b), Florida Statutes.  Specifically, the rule will address the reporting process for employers seeking to claim such an exemption and the time limits associated with the exemption, and will clarify when certain facts are and are not relevant for purposes of the exemption.
