PURPOSE:

The purpose of the proposed rules is to implement the accountability requirements of the Voluntary Prekindergarten Program. The rules establish the readiness rate that a VPK provider must reach to be considered satisfactory performance and what occurs when VPK providers fail to meet the readiness rate. The rules also establish required actions by providers who are placed on probation and choose a staff development plan to improve their program.
