PURPOSE:

The purpose of this rule development is to conform to new provisions of Sections: 409.1451 and created section 39.6251, Florida Statutes, which were amended and created during the 2013 Legislative Session. The effect will be to create a new system of delivering road to independence supports and services.

SUBJECT:

The creation of this chapter will address the provisions of supports and services to young adults formerly in foster care, as well as those continuing in foster care under Section 39.6251, F.S.   This chapter will address the services available to those attending postsecondary educational institutions and the manner in which those services must be provided, including an appeal procedure for program applicants. This chapter will also address delivery of aftercare services.
