Summer Bridge Program

PURPOSE:

This amendment will expand eligibility for the Summer Bridge Program based on changes due to House Bill 1279. The expansion includes students who score below the 25th percentile on the final administration of the coordinated screening and progress monitoring (PM3). Parental notification of eligibility for a New Worlds Scholarship Account is also being removed because no new scholarships are being funded.

SUMMARY:

The Summer Bridge Program provides eligible Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) students with literacy skill instructional support prior to entering kindergarten. The amendment aligns to new legislative changes and removes outdated requirements.
