Basic Skills Requirements for Postsecondary Career Certificate and Applied Technology Diploma Programs

PURPOSE:

To update the title to “Basic Skills Requirements for Postsecondary Career Certificate and Applied Technology Diploma Programs” and establish new cut scores established by the test publishers, and to add language regarding the exemption from basic skills requirements for private school, home education and personalized education students due to legislative changes from SB 917 (2024). This amendment also clarifies that students in 450 hour or greater Applied Technology Diploma (ATD) programs must demonstrate knowledge of basic skills.

SUMMARY:

Basic skills requirements, exemptions, and cut scores will be updated for postsecondary career certificate and Applied Technology Diploma programs.
